The County of Wise, Virginia is seeking proposals from qualified consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services for Design and Construction Management for the replacing of a steam boiler and radiator system in the original section of the Wise County Courthouse Facility. The selected engineering firm will work closely work with the Wise County Maintenance and Building Department during the project. Wise County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received in relation to this request, to negotiate with any qualified firm or to modify or cancel in part or in its entirety the Request for Proposal if it is in the best interest of Wise County.
Wise County is seeking proposals from consulting engineering firms for the replacing of a steam boiler and radiator system in the original section of the Wise County Courthouse Facility. Wise County wishes to utilize the recommendations developed as a result of the preliminary engineering report dated March 3, 2022, proposing mechanical and electrical upgrades to the original courthouse facility and in accordance with the HVAC Design Narrative, including cited codes, design guides, standards and system design criteria. Wise County desires to interview qualified firms for the planning, design, and construction management services for the project. The firm must have a minimum of 5 years' experience with HVAC design projects. The Project Manager must also have a minimum of 5 years' experience in working with the historic facilities project process. The contract will be under a lump sum billing with itemized billing. The services requested are as follows: Preliminary Design, 30% Design, 60% Design, 90% Design, Bidding Documents and Construction Documents.
The selected consulting Engineering Firm will provide Bidding Assistance to the County.

The Wise County Public Service Authority has applied for funding from the Virginia Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund to the installation of approximately 6,800 linear feet (lf) of 8-inch gravity sewer, 600 lf of 6-inch gravity sewer, 6,200 lf of 4-inch sewer service line, 62 sewer connections, several road crossings (including an underground boring of 4-lane US Route 23), and associated items. The loan request is $404,132.
