Language is constantly evolving. So of course, when a global pandemic strikes, leave it to Gen Z to come up with new ways to describe the coronavirus and the effects it's having on the world.

In late March, the United States became the most affected country in the world. To date, there are nearly 400,000 reported cases of "the rona" (coronavirus) in America, with over 70,000 confirmed cases in New York City alone.

At first, people thought Miss Rona (yet another slang term for the coronavirus) was only a threat to older people, so some young people started calling it the "Boomer Remover." But, as it turns out, young people are also at risk of catching the virus, unwittingly spreading it, and even becoming seriously ill themselves. And anyone who denies that is being dubbed a covidiot.

Keep reading to learn 7 slang words Gen Z has made up for the coronavirus era.
